Senior Year Goals

There is so much that I want to accomplish this school year, from a personal and professional standpoint. Writing a blog will keep me accountable to accomplish my goals!



  • Go to at least 2 networking events by the end of each semester
  • At least two informational interviews per month
  • Meet ups with current network
  • Expand my Howard network
  • Informational interviews with HU alum, attend/volunteer at events where HU alum will be present, build professional relationships with current HU students

2. Build professional portfolio

  • More PR work (i.e. press releases, media releases, 8 point plans, fact sheets, bios, etc.

3. Get an article published by a news outlet

  • i.e. The Hilltop, HU News Service, Howard Magazine, Huffington Post

4. Organized Post Graduation Plans

  • Excel spread sheet of internships, jobs, fellowships that I want to apply to

5. Adulthood preparation

  • Build credit (secure credit card, credit card through BoA)
  • Research apartments in DMV and Atlanta

6. Become more knowledgeable in my field

  • Read PR Daily more
  • Watch/read the news daily

7. Build a personal Board of Directors

  • Builder, companion, connector, collaborator, energizer, mind opener, navigator & champion

8. Master Microsoft Excel

9. Learn basics of HTML and CSS

10. Mock Interview

11. Perfect answers to top 20 interview questions


12. Explore DC
13. Read at least one book per semester
14. Learn more about Howard and Black history

  • Go to Moorland Spingarn Research Center
  • Take a campus tour

15. Eat healthier

16. Cook more
